Innovation from the university sector – to spin out or license? 9th Nov 2016, Melbourne CBD27/9/2016 Here's a great opportunity to learn about the links between academic research and commercialisation. This event is organised by Nadine Brew and Lauren Giorgio and supported by the Australian Science & Innovation Forum.
"Description: Hosted as part of Innovation Week 2016, this event will explore the different options for commercialising discoveries in medical research. Commercialisation of university-based research is increasing in Australia and contention exists over whether forming a start-up company, or licensing to a more resourceful company, provides better outcomes for the inventor, the university and the economy. Our panel, with experience in venture capital, angel investing, start-up companies, industry and universities, will debate the merits and pitfalls encountered with each approach." When: Wed 9 November 2016 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM Where: Level 7, Monash University CBD, 271 Collins St, Melbourne, Victoria What: Innovation from the university sector – to spin out or license? by Nadine Brew and Lauren Giorgio Information and Registration: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/innovation-from-the-university-sector-to-spin-out-or-license-tickets-27618045317
