The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) Australia Melbourne Chapter is proudly hosting a Career Development Symposium followed by a cocktail networking event on Wednesday, 12th of October at Melbourne Brain Centre, The University of Melbourne.
This symposium program is designed to provide you with the essential tools to enhance your ability to develop and establish a successful career in neuroscience research. It will be delivered by mid and senior neuroscientists who have proven success in career building and navigation, scientific grant writing, networking, and balancing research and teaching efforts. They will also provide advice concerning the mechanisms involved in grant submission and evaluation as well as funding opportunities other than academic streams. In addition, the Melbourne Chapter will host a lunch time ECR event, intended primarily for early stage neuroscientists who are embarking on an academic career in research. Attendees will receive information critical to their transition from postdoctoral training to investigative independence in academic neuroscience.
